Senior BBQ

Life at the architectural engineering department can be challenging and exhausting; however, our department has always worked towards strengthening the relationship between students, their supervisors, and faculty members. This strong bond makes all members of this department a family. So, what is better than engaging in extracurricular activities to celebrate this bond? This was the reason SASA organized a BBQ trip for all senior students and faculty members on the 30th of January 2022. A trip that aims to celebrate the accomplishments of those students whom have made it to the last year despite all the hardships. All faculty members were invited along with all the students expected to graduate in 2022. The full-day trip was to a farm in Ajman owned by our fellow colleague Nada Alshamsi who was very kind to host us on such a special occasion. The day started at 11 am when everyone headed to the farm and started all the preparations for the grilling and lunch. Let us not forget to thank all those guys in the batch who carried out the grilling tasks and made sure all the food was cooked to perfection. After lunch was over, the supervisors had a football game along with the students. The rest of the students engaged in several activities such as playing cards, singing, and dancing. Then, everyone was invited to dessert and, we loved to take the chance to celebrate Mrs. Mariam’s birthday despite her not being there. The amount of fun and laughter on that day can never be forgotten as some of the students also tried teaching our Italian doctor an Arabic traditional dance (Dabke). In the evening, the doctors had left in order to prepare for classes on the next day and the students continued having fun playing Truth or Dare. It was beautiful to see the smiles on all the students’ faces sitting down all next to each for the first time after the Covid pandemic. This day was definitely memorable as it was a great opportunity to know each other even more and have the chance to celebrate the end of this great journey at the architectural engineering department.
