Over the years, the AED has shown a great interest in exploring, acquiring, and delivering several technologies to its students. Therefore, the department has started looking into various technological fields. Recently, Virtual Reality (VR) has attracted many architects, researchers, and students to discover more about its benefits and uses.

A VR workshop was organized by SASA and hosted by Eng. Osama Atwa, On Sunday the 3rd of October 2021 in M8. The workshop shed light on two software used to enhance the VR experience, such as Rhino and Enscape.

But the question is, how does VR relate to architecture?

Eng. Osama guided the attendees on a journey and explained the importance of VR in the architectural world. Using VR systems helps designers better understand spatial relationships since they can virtually experience the spaces, examine areas, scale, and proportions. That's not all! VR can also show your building in the chosen landscape.

Let's agree that VR systems can convey the virtual beauty of buildings and spaces. However, true beauty cannot be achieved unless students are back on campus, attending workshops, living the experience together. Be on the lookout for our upcoming events! Here are some pictures of students attached from the recent workshop, and as a team, we can't wait to meet you all on near occasions.

Stay tuned!
