Paging All the Writers! Oxford University Press is Waiting for YOU!

It's time for the department's writers to shine! The Oxford University Press Story Writing Competition hosted annually by the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is on again and YOU can join to win!

The theme for this year's competition is Change the Story, inspired by our collective hope for a better 2021 (2020 was rough you guys!).

As university students, we are required to write an imaginative and inventive 1500 word story inspired by this theme. You are not constricted by a title, and you are welcome to write in either Arabic or English. The deadline for submissions is on the 4th of November, 2020 and the award ceremony takes place in March 2021 which happens to be the Month of Reading.

Winners will be honored during the ceremony and their entries will be published with the other winning entries in a book. They will also receive copies of the book, a plaque and the

opportunity to attend a festival session.

So what are you waiting for! Get your pens and paper, your laptops, tablets or whatever you write on and get to work! We can't wait to see your names on the winners' list!
